ABOUT US

Gulf Coast Community of Mindfulness is a community practicing meditation and mindfulness in the Plum Village tradition of the Venerable Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.  GCCOM was founded by Whitney Davidson in March 2022.  Whitney is a lay member of Thich Nhat Hanh’s Order of Interbeing. Members of the sangha (community) are also encouraged to facilitate.  Facilitating is a wonderful way to deepen our bond with community.

Our mission is to maintain a safe and sacred environment for you to learn and grow in your spiritual practice, whether you are new to meditation or an experienced practitioner. No experience is needed and beginners are welcome.  We welcome you no matter your gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education or disability.  We value and celebrate diversity, inclusivity, and respect for all beings and the inherent dignity of all peoples. If you’re looking for a community of like-minded people to help you grow your soul and help you live a fuller life, we invite you to join us.
